Chapter Zero Limited is pleased to welcome Nick Slater in its team.
Nick Slater's Profile:
Nick has been in IT as a developer for over twenty years and what started as an obsessive hobby turned into a full-time occupation. Nick has worked with various languages from Assembly language and BASIC through to Clipper, then C++, Delphi ,Visual BASIC and Visual C++ and since 2000 the .NET languages C# and vb.NET alongside MS SQL Server. Most of Nick's career has been as contractor where he have worked for British Gas where he was privileged to be locked away in basement with a small team of enthusiasts and a budget and told not to come out until they had solved the problem (using Windows and Visual BASIC) of taking Mainframe Screen scraping data and translating this into a GUI, later Bosch Telecom, NatWest Bank on the Retail Banking Platform specialising in Custom Control development as part of a team of about 7 providing controls to the rest of the platform teams all part of a much larger project to create a new Front End System to be rolled out to all branches nationwide. Recent projects have included an online Human Resource system, online Booking and Invoicing system for Bishops Move and an Exchange Integration project. On a more personal note; Nick loves spending time with his family; his wife who is from Columbia and his beautiful three year old son, who does lots of walking, swimming, reading, playing games dabbling with oil painting and asking the question ‘Whats in your World?’
